Celebrating 75 years of retail excellence in the Whitsunday region, Burnups Home Style is a third-generation business which has been owned and operated by the Burnup family since 1950.

First opening as a ‘hole in the wall’ shop on Bowen’s George Street, the business developed into a larger showroom on 42 Powell Street where the late John Burnup, his wife Lillian and the rest of the Burnup family resided above the shop.   Eventually, John’s son Clive took over to further develop the business, which ultimately saw them open an additional store with a larger premises in Airlie Beach. 

Burnups has remained a steadfast family-owned and operated business for over seven decades. With deep-rooted ties to the community it serves, Burnups has become a trusted name in retail excellence.

We carry a wide variety of unique product including lounge, dining, living, outdoor, bedding, mattresses, floor rugs and décor. We regularly travel across Australia and overseas with the aim to source product and provide a wide variety of styles suitable for our tropical Whitsundays environment. You will always find something different at Burnups.  

Operating two impressive retail locations in Bowen and Cannonvale, our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has stood the test of time. 

With an eye for design and a dedication to quality, Burnups has become the go-to destination for those looking to enhance their living spaces. In addition to our retail offerings, Burnups also operates a specialized interior commercial design division with a focus on fitting out holiday accommodation, hotels and high-end residences. The Burnups Design Division is operated by a team of interior decorators and trained professionals.
